Three Weeks
Saturday, February 6th, 2010The last three weeks was unplanned. The last three weeks felt like I was in a dream. It started with an eventful day at work, and I found myself absolutely free.
Initially, I didn’t know what to do. What have I done? I have never been in such a situation before. So I did what I have to do. The first week saw me sending out resumes, talking on the phone, then bam! out of nowhere a lead. Within the week, I signed on the dotted line with one of the software giants in the world. Although, this was not my first time, if my friends could recall. I will be starting on 8th Feb, so that left me two weeks free.
So I did what I do best – catching up with friends, planning new projects and going out. Then another opportunity opened up – a trip with the girls! I jumped at the chance. When will have another chance like this? In a day we planned, packed and go. Wednesday, 27 January, I stepped into Soekarno-Hatta; for the second time in my life.
Jakarta was fun. We needed to let our hair down and did we ever. It was also eye-opener as I followed my friends doing her business about town. We got stuck in the endless ”macet”. We slept in one big bed (with hilarious results). We ate (and we really ate!). We shopped. We met friends. We dressed up. We get pampered. We talked and we laughed. It was what I needed.
My last week were spent revamping Sara’s room and I am glad that it is now shiny new and almost ready. Saving the best for last – a brand new bed for her b’day!
I also did quick catch-ups with a few close friends. We did quality bonding time; eating, shopping, movies and outings. I felt recharged and brand new. This felt really good.
So my life changed in three weeks. Thank you Allah for your blessings. Thank you for giving me what I need and not what I want! I needed a break, and a change and that was what I got from you (although not in a way that was planned)! Thank you for doing your things in mysterious ways.
